When we gave birth to our first child we never realized the impact he would have on our life. At 24 and 23 years old my husband and I became special needs parents to Luca, a little boy with Down Syndrome. Though we spent our time grieving, we quickly realized that this diagnosis was a gift. Seventeen months later Luca's sister Nico was born, and they quickly became inseparable. All because of Luca's diagonosis we set ourselves up to take advantage of life and travel. We wanted to show other families out there that no matter what life throws at you, you are still able to do what you love. For us that was traveling. While we are not traveling we enjoy our life in a small beach town on the island of Oahu in Hawai'i.
